Your + Self

Everyone seems to be defining self-care and self-awareness and self-acceptance, etc. Why do we need to define something that literally is something we reflect on daily and make time for daily? When you wake up every day, you wash your face and brush your teeth at a minimum. These are part of the self. When you read to grow your mind, meditate to soothe your soul, feed yourself, clothe yourself, bathe yourself, you are giving your-self-care are you not!?
More or less, I think we are mindful of ourselves, we just aren’t paying attention to ourselves to become self-aware. I separate the self from each root word to signify that, we as a collective know what self-care is, we just don’t practice holding space for caring for ourselves in a thoughtful way.
For example, I have come to realize meditation every morning I wake up, I must hold a space for my meditation routine. When I do not do this, my routine is off and my day feels off. I hold this morning awareness to carry throughout my day to be mindful of my thoughts, feelings, and actions. For me, I hold a self-awareness space in everything I do to increase my positive energy and increase my vibrational frequency. When you realize the higher your vibrational frequency you hold, you must maintain your energy or you will seep your energy whenever you face challenges. I recently was provided a tool to assist me with holding such a space beginning at 4 am daily. It’s called the 4 am rule per Kobe Bryant. Do you realize you can become greater than what you are by putting in extra effort into your passions waking to start your day at 4 am?! I never heard the likes of such, but one of my brothers sent me a YouTube video that inspired me to follow in the footsteps of a great man, a legend: Kobe Bryant!
I know I am destined for greatness, and whether I captivate one or the masses, I always say that one is better than none. As I continue on my journey, I see how I have stretched my brain and body and it’s all for the cause: Self-Love. I’m doing all this for my legacy and the new culture that people are gravitating toward… being more conscience and self-aware! I enjoy telling people about my journey to greatness, and how I come to certain realizations. My journey has been difficult, but I appreciate my past because, without it, I would not be the person you see today who is becoming the change I seek in the world. It only takes one person to start a revolution. Why not start with me?!
What is your definition of self-care? What is the change you seek in yourself and your community and your planet?
